POSITION 1 – PAST
This position represents the past where the situation originated.
THE HERMIT – This card is based on a journey taken by the questionnaire alone. This is a path that requires that person to become ‘Hermit-like’ and seek answers from within, they must listen to that all important inner voice, trust in their own intuition and find the answers they seek without outside guidance or intervention.
In order to achieve inner peace one must take what they have learned from others and from life experience, both good and bad and turn it into their own personal wisdom. This can never be from another, but can only be acquired from within. This is a solitary journey that is taken alone and much of the world is shut out. This path can feel like a dark cave, but after the knowledge has turned itself into personal wisdom life resumes and all is there as it was before one left it. However it may be viewed from a different, calmer perspective.
The only thing that has changed is the self. This is a card of sacrifice and all else must be temporarily left behind.
POSITION 2 – PRESENT
The present situation.
THE WORLD – All good things come in time. What goes around comes around. The only thing we can be sure of is change. The major Arcana card of the world is about completion. Finally reaching a goal that you may have at times thought was out of reach forever. You are now at a point in your life where you can sit back and feel a sense of achievement. You worked hard to get here, time to enjoy the fruits of your labour.
This card can also represent the bringing together of opposites. Integration with others and matters handled with integrity. This is a very positive card.
POSITION 3 – FUTURE
The most likely outcome for the near future.
FOUR OF CUPS – Continuing the journey in the story of cups, we reach the four, if three was the party then four is the hangover. The typical morning after.
This card appears when you need rest. This is not always an early night or even a week off work, it can go much deeper. It could be a need for mental rest, to recharge your mind, body and spirit.
Life has drawn much from you and you may feel drained, weary, confused and uncertain. Find a place of peace and quiet and regain your balance. Make sure you are eating well and perhaps make some changes to your lifestyle, work patterns and diet. A check up with the doctor may be a good idea.
